Analytical description of the course:
The student is required to
formulate a problem, propose a number of solutions, select one based on
justifiable criteria, and investigate, research, and propose an implementation approach
to the selected solution.
A detailed concept and design proposal is completed during the first semester and the implementation phase may also begin.
Topics include:
Problem formulation, engineering design, background research, social, environmental, ethical and economic considerations, intellectual property and patents,
presentation. proposal writing, data analysis, engineering analysis, and
simulation.
